A Portrait of the Artist

Sheila studied painting at the Fine Arts Academy in Milan, Italy. She held her first solo exhibition in Tehran in 1966. Since then her work has been exhibited on a regular basis in the US and abroad. Various collectors, including HIH Empress Farah Pahlavi have acquired her paintings. Her work is incorporated in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, in Washington D.C.

Sheila's body of work has covered a wide range of styles, from the abstract expressionism of the early years, through Impressionism, contemporary, representational and photo realistic portraiture. Her "Persian phase" , imbued with richly colored urns, exotic fruits, flowers and peacocks pays tribute to the mysticism of the legendary Silk Road
